About the Role:

We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Oncologist with over 2 years of post-qualification experience to join our oncology team. The ideal candidate will bring a patient-centric approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, with a strong foundation in radiation therapy techniques and cross-functional collaboration. You will be a critical part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering holistic and evidence-based care to cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Diagnose and stage various types of cancer using clinical evaluations, imaging, biopsies, and laboratory diagnostics.
  • Design and implement effective radiation therapy treatment plans based on the type, location, and stage of cancer.
  • Operate and supervise the use of advanced radiotherapy equipment such as linear accelerators (LINAC), CT simulators, and brachytherapy devices.
  • Monitor patients during radiation therapy for side effects and treatment response, adjusting plans as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Provide thorough counseling to patients and their families about radiation procedures, potential side effects, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Work in close coordination with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to devise comprehensive and individualized treatment strategies.

Team & Collaboration:

  • Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and collaboratively determine the best treatment approach.
  • Coordinate with medical physicists and dosimetrists to ensure precise planning, dosage, and delivery of radiation therapy.
  • Engage in daily rounds and post-treatment evaluations to monitor patient progress and implement supportive care where needed.

Patient Education & Support:

  • Offer emotional support and clinical guidance to patients navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Educate patients on radiation safety, treatment schedules, and post-treatment care to minimize side effects and optimize recovery.

Academic and Research Participation:

  • Stay updated with the latest advances in radiation oncology, treatment protocols, and clinical trials.
  • Participate in departmental research initiatives, audits, and continuing education programs.
  • Contribute to scientific publications or clinical research relevant to radiation oncology, if interested.

Requirements:

  • MD or DNB in Radiation Oncology from a recognized medical institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in a reputed cancer care or multispecialty hospital.
  • Proven clinical expertise in treating a broad range of malignancies using modern radiation therapy techniques.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as IMRT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, and Brachytherapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-versed in patient safety standards and radiation hygiene protocols.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a NABH-accredited hospital or cancer center.
  • Exposure to clinical documentation systems and treatment planning software (e.g., Eclipse, ARIA, MOSAIQ).
  • Strong collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
