Job Description - Radiology Technician


Position 
The Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans as prescribed by physicians. The role ensures high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and adherence to regulatory standards. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Perform imaging procedures such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound (if applicable), ensuring clear images with minimum radiation exposure. 
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort. 
  • Must be able to produce high-quality images while minimizing patient exposure to radiation. 
  • Operate and take care of imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality, safety, and readiness at all times. 
  • Follow all radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, yourself, and other staff.  
  • Check and review images to ensure they are clear and suitable before sending them to the radiologist.  
  • Assist radiologists during special or advanced imaging procedures when required.  
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures, including vital signs, and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies. 
  • Maintain proper patient records, images, and reports in PACS/RIS systems as per hospital guidelines. 
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal regulations, and quality standards (e.g., NABH, JCI guidelines) 
  • Keep the imaging room and equipment clean, organized, and ready for use.  
  • Handle routine and emergency imaging requests efficiently while ensuring timely service delivery. 
  • Communicate clearly with doctors and other healthcare staff to ensure smooth and timely patient care.
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography / Radiology and Imaging Technology / Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology or similar.  
  • Valid certification/license as per regulatory authority (e.g., AERB in India)  
  • Minimum of 0–3 years of experience.
