R&D and New Product Development (NPD) - Executive / Sr Executive / Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking passionate and skilled professionals in R&D and NPD to develop innovative, compliant, and commercially viable herbal and nutraceutical products. From formulation to pilot scale-up and documentation, the role involves end-to-end product development, market research, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

• Conduct lab-scale research and development of herbal/nutraceutical products including capsules, tablets, syrups, powders, teas, oils, gummies, topicals, etc.
• Formulate new products based on market needs, customer briefs, and technical feasibility.
• Source and evaluate functional ingredients, botanicals, and excipients for new formulations.
• Execute stability studies, dosage trials, and optimize formulations based on performance.
• Prepare and maintain specifications, COAs, MFRs, PDRs, BOMs, and SOPs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with FSSAI, AYUSH, WHO-GMP, USFDA, and EFSA norms.
• Work closely with QA, QC, Regulatory, Marketing, and Production for product launches.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and support customer/regulatory queries.
  

Additional Responsibilities (Assistant Manager / Manager Level):

• Lead and manage end-to-end NPD projects from ideation to commercialization.
• Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, gaps, and innovation opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for trials, ingredient validation, and packaging compatibility.
• Oversee pilot batches, tech transfer to production, and support scale-up activities.
• Manage timelines, cost control, and quality parameters for each NPD project.
• Develop technical dossiers, whitepapers, and marketing support materials as needed.
• Participate in client presentations, audits, and product demonstrations.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in technical and documentation processes.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• M.Sc (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Botany, Biotechnology) / B.Pharm / M.Pharm
• Executive Level: 1–3 years
• Senior Executive: 3–5 years
• Assistant Manager: 5–7 years
• Manager: 7–10+ years
• Experience in herbal, nutraceutical, or pharma R&D/NPD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of formulation development, plant actives, analytical methods, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in technical writing, documentation, and familiarity with analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, UV, etc.).
• Exposure to global compliance standards (FSSAI, AYUSH, USFDA, EFSA, etc.) is a plus.
