SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs).

We are seeking applications for the position of R&R expert/ Social Development expert in various cities across India.

• Lead social safeguard activities for the Urban Water Metro Project.
• Conduct and review Social Impact Assessments (SIA) and identify project-affected persons (PAPs), vulnerable groups, and potential social impacts.
• Prepare and implement Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) Plans, Livelihood Restoration Plans, and Social Management Plans.
• Assess social impacts arising from land acquisition, displacement, loss of livelihood, access restrictions, and other project-related activities.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, community engagement programs, public meetings, and awareness campaigns.
• Develop strategies to minimize adverse social impacts and maximize social benefits associated with project implementation.
• Coordinate compensation, resettlement, livelihood restoration, and rehabilitation activities in consultation with project authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with national regulations, funding agency safeguard requirements, and project-specific social frameworks.
• Establish grievance redress mechanisms and monitor resolution of community concerns and complaints.
• Monitor implementation of social safeguard measures and recommend corrective actions where required.
• Prepare social due diligence reports, monitoring reports, compliance reports, and safeguard documentation.
• Coordinate with government departments, local authorities, NGOs, affected communities, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Support inclusion, gender equity, community participation, and vulnerable group protection initiatives within the project.
• Provide social safeguard inputs to feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), bid documents, and project implementation strategies.

• Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Rural Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R) Specialist, Social Development Specialist, Social Safeguards Expert, or equivalent role.
• Demonstrated experience in land acquisition, involuntary resettlement, rehabilitation and resettlement planning, stakeholder consultations, and social impact assessments for large infrastructure projects.
