We have been retained by a leading real estate company in Mumbai to search and place a Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist to lead the acquisition of distressed real estate assets through the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) process under the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
The role involves identifying opportunities, conducting due diligence, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing the acquisition process to expand the company's portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify Acquisition Opportunities:
- Monitor and identify distressed real estate assets available through the IBC process under NCLT.
- Analyze market trends to assess potential investment opportunities.
2. Due Diligence and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial analysis, legal compliance, and risk assessment of target assets.
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to evaluate the viability of acquisitions.
3. Application and Coordination:
- Prepare and submit applications to Interim Resolution Professionals (IRPs) as per IBC guidelines.
- Coordinate with bankers, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to facilitate the acquisition process.
4. Negotiation and Transaction Management:
- Lead negotiations with sellers, creditors, and other parties involved in the acquisition.
- Structure and finalize purchase agreements, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, including NCLT and IRPs, to stay informed about procedural updates.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful integration of acquired assets.
6. Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
- Ensure all acquisition activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a focus on distressed assets and familiarity with the IBC process.
- In -depth knowledge of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, NCLT procedures, and real estate market dynamics in India.
- Proven track record in conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and managing complex transactions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross -functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance.
