Job Description - Regional Business Manager

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Salary range: Rs 3300000 (ie INR 33 LPA)

Min Experience: 5 years

Location: Mumbai

JobType: full-time

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Business Manager to drive sales performance and operational excellence across a designated zone. This leadership role requires deep market knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to translate organizational objectives into actionable regional strategies. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop annual operating plans, define sales targets, and execute initiatives that accelerate revenue growth across multiple sales pillars. The role also involves leading and mentoring a team of Area/Assistant Business Managers, ensuring alignment with performance expectations and business goals. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in regional sales leadership within retail or allied sectors, combined with strong analytical capability and a results-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the annual zonal plan and budget in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Define and drive achievement of sales targets across retail, schemes, and EMI channels
  • Adjust sales strategies and targets based on market dynamics and performance trends
  • Oversee rollout and execution of new offers, campaigns, and schemes across the zone
  • Monitor effectiveness of promotional initiatives and recommend improvements
  • Identify new market opportunities and support new store expansion planning
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to drive strategic decisions
  • Review daily and monthly sales reports to track performance against targets
  • Use data analytics to identify growth opportunities and close performance gaps
  • Optimize stock levels and inventory management based on demand trends
  • Approve discounts within authorized limits and resolve escalated operational issues
  • Lead recruitment approvals for key regional roles and ensure strong team capability
  • Coordinate local marketing activities and exhibitions to enhance brand presence
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer grievances and maintain service standards
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of 15–17 Business Managers to drive high performance

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 10–12 years of proven experience leading regional or zonal sales operations in retail or allied sectors
  • Strong track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Deep understanding of regional market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convert data insights into strategic actions
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing and mentoring large teams
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment
  • Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales tools, and MS Office applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
