Release Manager

Contract duration : 6 months

We are looking for an experienced Release Manager to own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for complex, multi-component Telematics platform. This role ensures that software releases are planned, coordinated, and delivered smoothly across development, QA, and production environments, while maintaining quality, compliance, and minimal risk.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in release governance, Deployment process and cross-functional coordination in an Agile/DevOps environment.---

Key Responsibilities:

Release Planning & Governance

● Define and maintain the release calendar, aligning with business priorities and sprint cycles.

● Coordinate with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure readiness for each release.

● Manage scope freeze, code freeze, and change control processes.

● Prepare and publish release notes, communicate timelines, and track dependencies.

Sprint Planning & Governance

● Facilitate Sprint Planning sessions to align development teams with product priorities.

● Ensure backlog readiness and dependency mapping before sprint start.

● Track sprint commitments vs. capacity and monitor progress using Agile metrics.

● Coordinate with Product Owner and Tech Lead, Developers to resolve blockers.

● Maintain visibility of sprint goals and ensure alignment with release objectives.

Deployment & Environment Management : 

● Oversee build and deployments in collaboration with DevOps SME.

● Ensure environment readiness (Dev, QA, UAT, Production) for each release(As applicable).

● Plan and execute deployment strategies (As Required).

● Define and validate rollback plans for risk mitigation.

Risk & Compliance

● Identify release risks and develop mitigation strategies.

● Maintain an audit trail of release activities and approvals.

Collaboration & Communication

● Act as the primary point of contact for all release-related activities.

● Facilitate release readiness reviews and go/no-go meetings.

● Communicate release status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

● Experience: 8+ years in IT with at least 3+ years in Release Management.

● Tools & Processes: Strong knowledge of Deployment Pipelines, version control (Git), and release automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).

● Agile & DevOps: Familiarity with Scrum/Kanban and DevOps practices.

● Technical Awareness: Understanding of microservices architecture, cloud platforms (GCP), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

● Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
