As a Financial Crime Prevention Product Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding digital financial platforms by detecting, analyzing, and preventing fraudulent activity. You will leverage your expertise in transaction monitoring, data analytics, and product evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of financial crime prevention solutions. Working across multiple teams, you will track product performance, identify risks and patterns, and propose actionable improvements that balance compliance with user experience. This role offers the opportunity to shape the success of financial crime prevention products in a fast-paced, data-driven environment while collaborating closely with compliance, operations, and product stakeholders. You will also contribute to enhancing investigation tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to improve decision-making and reduce organizational risk.
Accountabilities:
- Analyse transactional, customer, and system data to detect financial crime risks, patterns, and trends.
- Evaluate the performance of financial crime prevention products, tracking KPIs such as false positives, case volumes, alert resolution times, and detection rates.
- Support product discovery by gathering requirements, investigating edge cases, and validating problem statements.
- Create clear insights, reports, and dashboards for business and product stakeholders.
- Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to translate challenges into actionable product opportunities.
- Test and validate solutions, including rule changes, machine learning models, and workflow improvements, before and after release.
- Document processes, logic, and analyses to build a team knowledge base.
- Use a variety of tools to perform investigations and ensure consistent monitoring standards.
Requirements:
- 4–7+ years of experience as a product analyst or data analyst, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or financial crime risk management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify suspicious activity and transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- Experience in balancing risk management with customer experience, spotting trends and patterns others may miss.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and learn continuously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across compliance, operations, and product teams.
