This role sits at the core of a fast-scaling AI-native SaaS platform powering the creator commerce ecosystem. You will design and build backend systems that directly impact how major global brands and creators manage discovery, engagement, and growth across modern social and commerce channels. The environment is high-velocity, product-driven, and deeply technical, with a strong emphasis on shipping quickly and iterating based on real user feedback. You will work in a team that treats AI as a core part of the development workflow, using modern agentic tools to accelerate engineering output. The role combines backend ownership, system design, and product thinking, with direct exposure to customers and real-world usage. It is ideal for engineers who thrive in ambiguity and enjoy solving complex scaling challenges while building practical, high-impact systems.
Accountabilities:
- Own and deliver backend features end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration in a fast-moving product environment.
- Design and build scalable backend systems using Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure (GCP), ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- Define and evolve system architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices across the backend stack.
- Work directly with customers and product stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical solutions and production-ready features.
- Drive AI-native development workflows, leveraging modern coding tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, speed, and technical excellence.
- Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to improve overall product quality and delivery speed.
Requirements:
- 2–6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience in product-focused or high-performance engineering environments.
- Strong experience building and scaling backend systems, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and distributed services.
- Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, along with solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and system design principles.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and building production-grade, scalable infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, documentation, and CI/CD practices.
- Proven ability to work in ambiguous environments, take ownership, and deliver end-to-end features independently.
- Experience or strong familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern coding tools, with the ability to evaluate AI-generated output critically.
- Strong product intuition and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
