Job Overview:

As a Cyber Security Intern, you will work closely with our cyber security team to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of cyber security operations. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects and initiatives aimed at protecting our organization from cyber threats. The internship will provide valuable exposure to a wide range of cyber security technologies, processes, and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and alerts from various sources, including security information and event management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security tools
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities to identify and address security weaknesses in our systems and networks
• Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Support incident response efforts by assisting in the investigation, containment, and recovery of security incidents and breaches
• Help maintain and enhance cyber security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance
• Assist in the evaluation and deployment of new security technologies and tools to enhance our defensive capabilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the design and development of new systems, applications, and services
• Stay current with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and trends by conducting research and participating in relevant training and professional development activities

Mandatory Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in computer science, information security, or a related field
• Strong interest in cyber security and a desire to learn and develop new skills in the field
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common cyber security principles
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, etc., is a plus.

Preferred Requirements:

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, etc.)

Qualities:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
