This role is designed for an experienced engineer who enjoys building scalable, reliable, and impactful digital products in a remote-first environment.
You will take ownership of backend-heavy full-stack development, focusing on APIs, transactional systems, and complex integrations.
The position offers the opportunity to architect end-to-end solutions that power financial and rewards-based experiences for users worldwide.
You will work with modern technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, React Native, Next.js, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.

Accountabilities:
The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications with a strong focus on backend systems, integrations, and transactional workflows. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain backend APIs and business logic using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.
- Build and manage API integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous or event-driven processing.
- Design scalable solutions for transactional data processing, reconciliation, and idempotent workflows.
- Implement and monitor purchase and reward lifecycle management, including pending, approved, refunded, and cancelled states.
- Develop systems for real-time transaction tracking, reward status updates, and user notification flows.
- Calculate and manage reward values using commission and transaction data.
- Test, validate, and deploy integrations within sandbox and production environments.
- Support frontend and mobile experiences using React Native and Next.js when required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of full-stack product solutions.
- Architect solutions independently and take ownership of technical decisions from concept through delivery.
- Maintain high-quality standards while supporting frequent deployments and continuous improvements.
- Work effectively in environments with evolving processes, taking initiative to identify gaps and implement solutions.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have strong full-stack engineering experience with a backend focus and proven ability to build reliable, scalable systems. Required qualifications and skills include:
- 6+ years of professional experience developing backend APIs and business logic using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
- Experience building API integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, scalability, reconciliation, and idempotency for financial or transactional systems.
- Experience with React Native and frontend development support.
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures.
- Familiarity with Next.js or equivalent React-based full-stack development.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, JUnit, or similar tools.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows and cloud delivery platforms including Docker, GitHub Actions, GCP Cloud Build, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with Firebase or in-memory databases such as Redis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to operate independently in a startup environment.
- Excellent attention to detail when working with financial, transactional, and customer-facing systems.
- Ability to balance rapid delivery with engineering quality and reliability.
- Knowledge of fintech, card networks, affiliate platforms, or reward systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms, BigQuery, Looker, GraphQL, or similar technologies is advantageous.
