SAP Developer

Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 2800000 (ie INR 15-28 LPA)

We are seeking an experienced SAP Developer with strong expertise in SAPUI5 and SAP ABAP to design, build, and optimize high-quality SAP applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP technical architecture, UX-driven development, and backend integration. You will collaborate closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and cross-functional tech teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance SAP solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAPUI5 / Frontend Development

• Design and develop modern, responsive, and user-friendly Fiori/SAPUI5 applications using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, OData services, and UI5 frameworks.
• Build custom SAP Fiori apps, extend standard apps, and enhance UI elements based on business requirements.
• Ensure UI5 components are optimized for performance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to translate wireframes and user journeys into functional front-end solutions.
• Implement MVC architecture, reuse libraries, controllers, fragments, and custom controls as required.

2. SAP ABAP / Backend Development

• Develop, enhance, and maintain ABAP objects including Reports, Function Modules, Classes, BAPIs, BADIs, Enhancements, User Exits, Interfaces, and Forms (SmartForms/Adobe).
• Build and optimize OData services for SAPUI5 applications using ABAP Gateway.
• Work on performance tuning of ABAP programs, debugging issues, and ensuring efficient data processing.
• Integrate SAP with third-party systems using IDocs, RFCs, REST APIs, and other middleware interfaces.
• Support S/4HANA migration and modernization initiatives, including CDS views, AMDP, and RAP model (optional but preferred).

3. Solution Design & Delivery

• Collaborate with functional teams to understand business processes, evaluate technical feasibility, and propose scalable solutions.
• Participate in requirement gathering workshops, estimations, and technical scoping.
• Ensure high-quality code standards via best practices, documentation, and code reviews.
• Drive end-to-end development lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, and support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business users, functional consultants, QA, Basis team, and project managers to deliver solutions within timelines.
• Provide technical guidance, peer mentoring, and support for junior developers when needed.
• Communicate clearly and proactively regarding progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Support UAT, SIT, and performance testing cycles with timely resolutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6–10 years of strong hands-on experience in SAPUI5, Fiori, and SAP ABAP development.
• Proven experience with OData services, ABAP Gateway, CDS Views, and S/4HANA concepts.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules (SD/MM/FI/PP etc.) from a technical perspective.
• Excellent debugging skills, performance tuning experience, and problem-solving ability.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
