Senior Accountant

We’re on the lookout for an inspiring and driven Senior Accountant to own all accounting & tax topics in Austria as well as internationally. (together with external consultants). This position is directly reporting to our CFO.

• Own the complete accounting & tax area of the Journi GmbH, such as

  • prepare the annual financial report in accordance with UGB (together with our external accounting department) as well as oversee the monthly accounting 

  • be the #1 contact for the annual financial statement audit

  • be responsible for the VAT declaration process within the EU, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Australia and Norway

• Own the accounting and tax topics of our subsidiary in the US (together with the local tax advisor)

• handle all upcoming accounting and tax topics elated to market entries (together with the CFO)

• be responsible for the weekly payment flow process as well as the optimization for the cash management

• min. 5 years experience (full-time) in accounting, auditing or tax consultancy

• completed bachelor degree in business administration (preferable with accounting focus)

• excellent knowledge of  UGB accounting (but no need to know BMD or any other accounting software)

• basic knowledge of the austrian tax law (KStG & UStG)

• fluent in German and English

• hands-on mentality, always curious and eager to learn and take on new challenges

• valid EU work permit

• primary work location will be Vienna

• Work Experience at a Big4 Company (Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, EY) 

• Experience with internal tax law

• first experience in leadership (e.g. project management, etc.)
