Job Description - Resident Medical Officer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Resident Medical Officer in India.

This role offers a hands-on clinical opportunity within intensive care and high-dependency units, where you will play a key part in delivering continuous, high-quality patient care. You will work at the bedside in close coordination with remote intensivist teams, ensuring that critical care protocols are accurately implemented and patient safety is consistently prioritized. The position combines direct clinical responsibility with a technology-enabled care model designed to improve ICU outcomes and response times. You will be actively involved in patient management, emergency interventions, and ongoing monitoring of critically ill patients. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring strong clinical judgment and teamwork across multidisciplinary hospital teams. This role also provides exposure to structured ICU protocols, quality improvement processes, and continuous medical learning. It is well suited for doctors seeking to build strong foundational or advanced experience in critical care medicine.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide direct bedside care for ICU and high-dependency patients, including admissions, rounds, monitoring, and emergency response management.

  • Collaborate closely with remote intensivist teams to implement clinical management plans and ICU care protocols.

  • Perform essential critical care procedures such as airway management, intubation support, central line insertion, arterial line placement, and basic ventilator management where required.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with patient families in coordination with hospital teams.

  • Work alongside nursing staff and medical officers to maintain adherence to ICU protocols and patient safety standards.

  • Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU performance.

  • Engage in continuous medical education, training sessions, and skill development programs to strengthen clinical expertise.

Requirements

  • MBBS degree or FMGE certification with valid State or National Medical Council registration.

  • 0–5 years of clinical experience, preferably with exposure to ICU, emergency, or critical care settings.

  • Strong clinical reasoning, decision-making, and patient management skills.

  • Basic understanding of ICU procedures and willingness to perform critical care interventions under supervision/training.

  • Ability to work effectively in a technology-enabled and protocol-driven healthcare environment.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Willingness to work rotational shifts and roster-based ICU schedules.

  • High level of adaptability, responsibility, and composure in high-pressure clinical situations.

Benefits

  • Competitive monthly compensation ranging from INR 50,000 to 100,000.

  • Structured exposure to ICU and critical care environments with continuous hands-on learning.

  • Training and professional development opportunities in advanced critical care practices.

  • Collaborative work environment with access to experienced intensivist guidance.

  • Exposure to technology-enabled healthcare delivery models.

  • Opportunities for clinical skill enhancement and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Stable full-time hospital-based employment with rotational shift structure.

  • Supportive environment focused on patient safety and clinical excellence.
