? ABOUT THE ROLE

Ikigai Advanced Gastroenterology & Digestive Health Clinic is looking for a clinically strong and patient-focused Resident Medical Officer (RMO) with experience in Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, General Surgery, or GI Surgery.

The RMO will work closely with Gastroenterologists and Colorectal Surgeons and support patients throughout their treatment journey — from assessment and counselling to pre-operative and post-operative care.

? KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct initial patient assessment and maintain clinical documentation

• Take detailed medical and surgical histories

• Assess GI and colorectal complaints and identify clinical red flags

• Assist Gastroenterologists and Colorectal Surgeons during consultations/procedures

• Coordinate investigations, specialist consultations, and follow-ups

• Support pre-operative and post-operative patient management

• Monitor recovery and escalate clinical concerns promptly

• Assist with wound and stoma care as required

• Explain treatment plans and procedures clearly to patients and families

• Counsel patients regarding investigations, treatment, surgery, recovery, and follow-ups

• Follow up with patients who delay recommended treatment

• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment-status updates

?ï¸ MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

â MBBS with valid medical registration

â 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience

â Strong knowledge of GI & colorectal conditions

â Experience working with Gastroenterologists / Colorectal Surgeons preferred

â Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills

â Pre-operative & post-operative care experience

â Excellent communication and patient counselling skills

â Ability to recognise and escalate clinical red flags

â Strong empathy, ownership, and follow-up discipline

â Willingness to work on-site in Pune
