Resident Storyteller

Book Lovers' Program for Schools is an English Language Reading programme that aims to improve language skills while helping children become lifelong readers. As a Resident Storyteller at BLPS, you will be able to provide the joy of reading to hundreds of kids at one of our partner schools in Chennai. All you need is enthusiasm, a love for reading and the ability to handle the never-ending questions from excited children! 

Your responsibilities will be to - 

• Read lots of children's books
• Conduct storytelling and activity sessions for a partner school in Chennai on a daily basis
• Develop content, write stories, activities and lesson plans.

Our requirements - 

• Professional fluency in English is a must. Should be able to fluently read, write and speak in English.
• A graduate degree is a must (Either UG or PG in any stream)
• Young and energetic. Should have the ability to keep up with very young children.
• Should be an avid reader and should have a genuine love for books and stories.
• Should be able to interact with an audience and keep them engaged.
• Must love working with children.
• Theatre/storytelling experience preferred (but not mandatory).
