Restaurant Manager

About the Job

As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the hotel's restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining IHG brand standards. You will oversee service delivery, lead and develop the restaurant team, manage operational costs, and work closely with the kitchen and other hotel departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Your day to day

Operational Management

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including breakfast service, lunch, dinner, and room service (where applicable).
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, service procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure consistency.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
• Ensure restaurant equipment, furniture, and facilities are well maintained and operational.

Guest Experience

• Deliver outstanding guest service by ensuring a warm, friendly, and efficient dining experience.
• Engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and ensure guest satisfaction at all times.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, implementing timely service recovery.
• Monitor guest satisfaction scores and drive continuous improvements in service quality.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the restaurant team to achieve operational excellence.
• Conduct daily shift briefings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing levels based on business requirements.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.

Financial & Cost Control

• Monitor daily restaurant sales, revenue, and departmental expenses.
• Control food and beverage costs by minimizing waste and ensuring effective inventory management.
• Conduct regular stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue through upselling and operational efficiencies.

Compliance & Brand Standards

• Ensure compliance with IHG policies, food safety regulations, health & safety standards, and local legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and audit records.
• Ensure all team members consistently follow brand standards and SOPs.

Coordination

• Work closely with the Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure seamless guest service.
• Support banquet operations and special events whenever required.
• Participate in operational meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

What we need from you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in restaurant or food & beverage operations, preferably within an international hotel brand.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, cost control, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in restaurant POS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
