Job Description - Sales & Marketing (Steel Plant Industry)

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior Sales & Marketing professional with strong exposure to the steel manufacturing industry to drive regional sales growth, manage key accounts, and strengthen market presence across North & Central Karnataka.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales & marketing strategies for steel products (TMT bars, billets, sponge iron, structural steel, etc.)

  • Drive B2B and channel sales across Karnataka and neighbouring regions

  • Manage and grow dealer, distributor, and institutional client networks

  • Handle key accounts, large industrial buyers, EPC contractors, and infrastructure clients

  • Forecast sales, prepare annual budgets, and achieve volume & revenue targets

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies

  • Coordinate with plant operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth order execution.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the regional sales team

  • Represent the company in trade meets, industry events, and client negotiations



Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in Sales & Marketing within the steel / metal / heavy industry

  • Strong understanding of steel products, pricing, and market dynamics

  • Proven experience in dealer management and institutional sales

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills

  • Experience handling Karnataka markets, especially Bellary–Hospet belt preferred

  • Ability to travel extensively within the region

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business / Marketing

  • MBA (Sales & Marketing) is an added advantage

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Background from steel plants, rolling mills, or integrated steel manufacturers

  • Strong local market knowledge and established industry connections

  • Results -driven, strategic thinker with hands -on execution capability
