SAP Basis Interface Support Engineer

This role focuses on ensuring the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of SAP environments. You will manage system performance, handle upgrades and patches, monitor background jobs, and support interfaces across SAP and non-SAP systems. The role requires strong technical proficiency in SAP Basis, Linux/Unix, and database management, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues, optimise system reliability, and maintain secure access controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage SAP servers, including performance tuning, health checks, and system availability monitoring.
• Oversee user access, roles, and security to maintain compliance and safeguard system integrity.
• Execute SAP system patches, upgrades, and maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor and manage background jobs to avoid failures and performance bottlenecks.
• Support and maintain interfaces between SAP and non-SAP applications using IDOCs, RFCs, and web services.
• Handle transport management, ensuring accurate and timely movement of changes across environments.
• Troubleshoot system issues across SAP Basis, operating systems, and databases (Oracle/HANA).
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and quick issue resolution.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Basis administration, including system monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and comfort working at OS-level for SAP operations.
• Experience with Oracle or HANA databases, including basic administration and performance checks.
• Familiarity with communication technologies like IDOCs, RFCs, and web services for interface support.
• Good grasp of networking fundamentals to diagnose connectivity issues.
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage critical system issues, and ensure high system uptime.
