Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Node.js, Event-Driven Systems)

Experience: 5–8 Years

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale event-driven microservices that power large-scale integration between platforms and third-party ecosystems. This role involves owning core backend systems end-to-end, driving technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and working closely with product and architecture teams to deliver scalable, reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud


• Develop and maintain microservices and distributed applications


• Design and maintain event-driven architectures processing high-volume events (10K+ events/sec) using Kafka, MQTT, and cloud messaging services


• Build and enhance microservices for real-time, low-latency data synchronization across distributed systems


• Develop and maintain third-party platform integrations, including voice platform integrations (e.g., Alexa Smart Home, Google Home) for device discovery and control


• Implement and manage OAuth 2.0-based account linking and token lifecycle management across third-party platforms


• Create and maintain REST APIs and backend services; integrate cloud services, third-party APIs, and databases


• Build serverless applications using services such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions


• Build scalable backend APIs for real-time dashboards, aggregating and serving high-volume data at scale


• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) for automated build, test, and deployment workflows


• Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and QA to ensure timely, high-quality delivery

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional backend engineering experience


• Strong proficiency in Python, with exposure to Node.js and TypeScript


• Experience with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka, MQTT, or similar messaging systems


• Solid experience with RESTful API design and building scalable microservices


• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms — AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CodePipeline) or GCP (App Engine, Cloud Run)


• Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and secure authentication flows


• Proficiency with Docker and containerized deployments


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline)


• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to debug complex production issues across distributed services

Candidate Profile

• Good to have: experience with IoT protocols (MQTT) and IoT platforms


• Good to have: familiarity with cloud messaging services (Google Pub/Sub, Azure Event Hub, AWS SNS/SQS)


• Good to have: experience with voice assistant integrations


• Good to have: experience with Kubernetes-based deployments


• Strong communicator, comfortable mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions independently
