Job Description - Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting, taxation, and compliance functions of our retail business. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of GST, accounting standards, budgeting, and statutory compliance, with proven ability to manage accounts in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting including Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), Payroll, and Reconciliations.

Ensure accurate and timely GST filings, reconciliations, and compliance.

Update and reconcile bank entries on time to ensure correct balances & ensure all expenses are reflected in books on time.

Assist in preparation and monitor Budgets & Cashflow forecasts, Variance Analysis

Manage vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and other payment processing on schedule.

Handle TDS, EPF, and other statutory compliance.

Scrutinize key expense heads and ensure accuracy of books.

Implement strong internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Any other Accounting and finance-related tasks as required by Management/Reporting Manager.

Requirements

Qualification: CA/CMA Inter (mandatory).

Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting & compliance (Retail Industry Preferred).

Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, EPF, and Other statutory compliance.

Hands-on experience with AP, GL, Payroll, budgeting, and cash flow management.

Hand on Experience with Zoho Books / ERP

Strong knowledge and expertise in Advanced Excel( Pivot Tables, Lookups,data analysis, financial modeling etc)

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

Prior Retail Industry Experience.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
