Job Description - Senior Accountant General Ledger

Hiring: Senior Accountant – General Ledger | Chennai

Location: Chennai

Experience: 3–5 Years

ctc - 55 -60 LPA

Role: Senior Accountant & Subject Matter Expert – General Ledger

Interview: F2F | Monday–Friday | 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

Handle General Ledger & Month-End Closing activities.
Perform Bank Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
Manage Payroll Accounting, Income Journals & Sales Tax activities.
Prepare monthly financial reports and submissions for management/client.
Identify and resolve unreconciled and aged items.
Prepare error trackers and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Monitor assigned preparers and track performance/KPIs.
Communicate regularly with clients through calls and emails.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned accounting activities.
Follow information security and financial control procedures.

Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles
General Ledger / GL Accounting
Month-End Closing
Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliation
US Accounting / US GAAP
Payroll Accounting
Sales Tax / US Tax
Financial Reporting & Account Reconciliation
Strong MS Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Client handling experience
