Senior Application Developer- C12 - Chennai

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Key Responsibilities:

As an agile senior application developer, the successful candidate will work closely with business users and other members of the development team to provide quality systems that will: improve productivity, decrease operational risk, enable the business to expand and make users smile. They will be working on high profile, largely greenfield applications and will have the opportunity to shape the future technical direction and take ownership for functional components.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, design, manage and support high quality systems
• Design and implement every aspect of the system with automation and resilience in mind – automated tests, automated deployment, no-downtime deployments, automated failover, etc…
• Continuously aim to improve and optimise our applications and processes to reduce manual intervention, downtimes, and outages.
• Build strong relationships with business users through understanding the challenges that they face, then build systems that will allow them to overcome them
• Maintain a strong focus on quality and supportability
• Be willing and able to adapt to changes in priorities and requirements
• Remain open and alert to new technology opportunities

Knowledge/Experience:

• 8+ years commercial software development, with a JVM based language
• Proven ability to deliver the smallest and simplest simple solutions first before iterating
• Proven ability to work well in delivering complex systems in a changing fast paced environment
• The ability to develop small self-contained domain specific services
• Sound knowledge of application architecture and design
• Has previously designed applications that can fail over safely and are easy to monitor and support

Required Skills:

• Understanding of test-driven, agile software methodologies and associated tools/technologies
• Strong, hands-on experience in solution design, design patterns and data structures
• Good understanding of lightweight web technologies (REST endpoints, web-sockets, JSON), and micro-services in a service-orientated ecosystem
• Familiarity with modern OO and functional programming practices
• Experience with JVM technologies in a highly dynamic and interactive setting essential.
• Experience in working front end frameworks/UI development using React/Vue/Angular.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB , Couchbase or similar document database is benefit
• Experience with Containers a benefit
• Nice to have C#/.NET development experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
