Job Description – Senior Associate – M&A Tax Advisory

Job Overview

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with experience in M&A Tax Advisory, specifically in the taxation aspects of mergers, acquisitions and business restructuring. The ideal candidate should have experience in tax advisory and transaction-related taxation, rather than investment banking or investment-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  Advise clients on direct tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, business restructuring and corporate reorganisations.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct tax due diligence and identify potential tax exposures and risks in transactions.

  
  


• 
  

  Analyse tax implications of proposed mergers, demergers, acquisitions and restructuring transactions.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist in structuring transactions from a tax efficiency and regulatory perspective.

  
  


• 
  

  Review and analyse tax provisions, applicable laws and regulations relevant to M&A transactions.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare tax reports, opinions, presentations and client deliverables.

  
  


• 
  

  Support transaction structuring, tax planning and implementation.

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with internal teams and clients to provide tax solutions.

  
  


• 
  

  Research and analyse complex taxation issues arising in M&A transactions.

  
  

Candidate Requirements

• 
  

  Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience in M&A Tax Advisory / Transaction Tax / Direct Tax Advisory.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of Indian direct taxation and its implications in mergers and acquisitions.

  
  


• 
  

  Candidates from CA firms or Big 4 / consulting / advisory firms preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong analytical, research, communication and report-writing skills.
