Senior Backend Developer - Java

Position : Senior Backend EngineerExperience : 4+ YearsLocation : Kolkata (WFO)Role Overview :We are looking for a talented, creative and passionate individual with educational background in Computer science, engineering, or other related fields and strong organisational skills. As a member of the Engineering team, your role is to perform your day to day duties with utmost care and maintain confidentiality. You will work closely with Product, Delivery & Operations functions and other verticals to understand the business thoroughly & manage crucial matters in technology & engineering. Responsibilities :Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following :Technical Management : - Your role is to lead, motivate, inspire, and encourage your own as well as cross functional technical teams. - Teams include Developers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Testers, Linguists and Data Analysts.Project Management : - Manage project plans, software development life cycle processes, delivery of all phases of application and product development, testing, and bug cycles. - Manage project management methodologies with strong operational excellence.Analytics : - Provide regular development progress reports, project status and individual performance of team members. - Recommend improvements of system and processes & resource utilisation. Implement best practices and coding standards.People Management : Manage a team of Developers, ranging from 7-10 members. Partner with the Product, Content, Delivery and Pperations teams for smooth delivery of the final product.Required Skills & Experience :- 4-5 years of experience in leading Software Engineering / Development projects- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of Java, Spring Boot backend technology with knowledge and exposure to frontend technology Angular is a must.- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Bootstrap is preferred.- Excellent problem solving, communication and analytical skills- Experience in working with AWS, Google Cloud or Azure cloud-based architecture and deploying web-based and web-enabled business applications- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to handle and resolve conflict situations- Strong understanding of Architectural and Design patterns- Highly innovative, flexible and self-directed- Excellent managerial skills and proven experience of managing a large team- Experience in building executive level internal and external relationships in a complex and dynamic organisation and in influencing cross-functional teams.- Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas (ref:hirist.tech)
