Senior Bridge CAD Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION: -

• Preparation of General Arrangement Drawing, detailed reinforced concrete/PSC/steel drawings, culvert sheets, retaining/wing wall details etc.


• Understand design and detailing standards followed by Stantec and implement them at work 


• Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within budget and schedule


• Preparing BoQs


• Identify and document design challenges and collaborate with the wider team to ensure the challenges are documented 


• Coordinate drawing production with all other project disciplines both internal and external to Stantec


• Understand design development


• Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts

PREFFERED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: -

• Data / Document management system experience


• Knowledge of highway and rail bridges


• Ability to work alone and take initiative


• Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.


• Ability and interest in leading teams


• Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required


• Completing assigned tasks on agreed time, quality, and budget


• Responsible for checking own work and ensuring compliance with standards set in the project and adhering to company's quality procedures


• Mentoring and supporting the development of technicians


• A passion for quality and continuous improvement with a focus on delivery.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: - 

• Diploma in Civil Engineering. or B.E Civil engineering


• Minimum experience of 10 years in preparing Prepare structural drawings for various Bridge and infrastructure projects across various regions based on the requirement


• Competent in AutoCAD, Microstation, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks


• Good knowledge of OpenBridge modeler will be a plus.


• Experience of Reinforcement drawing and rebar detailing


• Supporting the technical development of Junior CAD technician


• Check drafting work of Junior draftsmen and CAD technicians. 


• Responsible for BIM and CAD standards, implementation, and enforcement


• Data / document management system experience – ProjectWise and ACC


• Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering in a BIM environment


• Experience in detailing practices of USA/BS/Eurocode/Australian will be preferred


• Should be a good team player


• Good oral and written communication skills


• Good interpersonal skills


• Proficient in Microsoft (MS) office suite
