Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior C++ Backend Engineer to join a team developing a near real-time media processing application on Linux. The role is primarily backend-focused and involves building and maintaining high-performance, multi-threaded C++ services used in professional broadcast and IP-based media workflows.

The engineer will work on both new feature development and maintenance, primarily within an existing architecture, with opportunities to propose incremental design improvements. Experience in media libraries and broadcast environments is a strong plus, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  Develop and maintain backend application components in modern C++ on Linux

  
  


• 
  

  Implement and enhance multi-threaded, performance-sensitive modules

  
  


• 
  

  Integrate and use media libraries such as xavdp codec and FFmpeg

  
  


• 
  

  Work with IP-based media workflows including ST 2110, 2022-6, playout, ingest, and transcoding

  
  


• 
  

  Extend and consume REST APIs using Microsoft C++ REST SDK or similar frameworks

  
  


• 
  

  Implement authentication and authorization features in API layer

  
  


• 
  

  Debug, analyze, and resolve complex runtime issues

  
  


• 
  

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

  Occasionally contribute to lightweight UI or web-related components when required

  
  

Required Skills & Experience

  7+ years of professional C++ development experience

  Deep understanding of C++ language fundamentals and best practices

  Strong experience with multi-threaded programming

  Strong knowledge of Linux (any distribution)

  Experience developing near real-time or performance-sensitive systems

  Practical experience writing bash scripts
