THE
ROLE
As a senior member of the IT Application
Development team, the Senior Catalog Developer plays a critical role in
delivering robust and scalable electronic catalog solutions for internal and
external business partners. This role requires advanced technical expertise,
strong problem‑solving capabilities, and the ability to guide and influence
development standards, best practices, and solution design across the Catalog
Development function.
The
Senior Catalog Developer is expected to demonstrate deeper business
understanding, technical leadership, and greater autonomy and will lead complex
catalog initiatives, mentor other developers, participate in solution
architecture discussions, and serve as trusted advisor to Business and IT
stakeholders.
Principle
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner
with Business and IT stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, scalable
catalog solutions; lead technical execution for medium‑ to large‑sized
initiatives.
- Provide
technical leadership in solution design, catalog architecture, rule
structuring, and configuration strategies across the Paradigm platform.
- Drive
planning, estimation, and sprint alignment activities; proactively
identify risks, dependencies, and architectural implications across
initiatives.
- Author
and maintain advanced technical documentation, including architectural
diagrams, development standards, reusable patterns, and best‑practice
guidelines.
- Lead
development, enhancement, and optimization of catalog content using
Paradigm tools, embedded rules, tables, filters, and custom VB.NET/.NET
components.
- Debug
and refactor complex code modules, improving maintainability, performance,
and reliability of the electronic catalog ecosystem.
- Oversee
and enhance internal tooling used for catalog development, deployment,
testing, and validation, including Python‑based utilities or automation
frameworks.
- Direct
the testing lifecycle, ensuring comprehensive unit, integration,
regression, and performance coverage for catalog updates and ERP‑integrated
output validation.
- Act as
an escalation point for complex incidents and problems; drive root‑cause
analysis and long‑term corrective solutions within the catalog domain.
- Guide
Agile ceremonies by supporting story refinement, estimation practices,
backlog management, and delivery planning.
- Lead
catalog release processes, environment preparation, catalog upgrades,
build execution, publish cycles and ensure consistency across
environments.
- Support
environment setup, SQL/server dependencies, and cross‑environment
stability; partner with infrastructure stakeholders to optimize
performance.
- Uphold
compliance and operational excellence by completing administrative
responsibilities and contributing to process improvements.
· Mentor and coach developers, providing direction
on technical issues, coding standards, catalog logic, debugging strategies, and
career progression.
Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities
- Minimum
10+ years of programming experience in electronic catalog development with deep expertise in Paradigm/WTS Paradigm ecosystem, embedded rules,
and table‑driven configuration logic.
- Advanced
proficiency in VB.NET, .NET development, SQL, and debugging tools; ability
to design and optimize complex modules and reusable components.
- Experience
designing and automating developer tools using Python or similar
technologies; ability to introduce efficiencies in validation, testing, or
build processes.
- Expertise
in catalog imagery standards, tooling, and optimization using Adobe
Photoshop and internal imaging utilities.
- Strong
knowledge of Doors and Windows product configuration and
manufacturing principles; ability to translate business rules into
structured catalog logic.
- Skilled
in ServiceNow or similar platforms for complex Incident, Problem, and
Change Management workflows.
- Highly
proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint; able to clearly document,
present, and communicate technical concepts.
- Strong
working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and ITIL with the ability to influence
cross‑team processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated
ability to troubleshoot catalog output across multiple environments and
integrated ERP systems.
- Exceptional
organization skills with the ability to manage multiple high‑impact
priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both
technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
