Job Description - Senior Certinia Functional Consultant (Finance Accounting)

Help design, build and continuously improve the clients online platform.

Research, suggest and implement new technology solutions following best practices/standards.

Take responsibility for the resiliency and availability of different products.

Be a productive member of the team.

Requirements

3â5 years of prior hands-on experience in finance or accounting roles such as Accountant, Financial Analyst, or Financial Controller before moving into consulting.

Experienced Certinia (FinancialForce) Consultant with a strong combination of finance domain expertise and functional platform knowledge.

Business-oriented consultant who understands accounting operations firsthand and can effectively engage with Controllers, Finance Managers, and CFOs using business and financial terminology rather than technical jargon.

Drive business transformation initiatives by leading discovery workshops, designing financial process solutions, and ensuring the Certinia platform aligns with accounting standards, operational objectives, and enterprise business processes.

Lead and facilitate discovery workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document current-state processes, and define future-state financial workflows.

Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams by translating complex accounting and finance requirements into functional solution designs.

Design end-to-end financial solutions within the Certinia/Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring integration across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and PSA environments.

Provide strategic guidance on financial best practices, revenue recognition, billing automation, and month-end close optimization.

Prepare functional design documents (FDDs), process flow diagrams, business requirements, and user stories for stakeholder validation.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business adoption, and user training with a focus on operational and business outcomes.

Challenge existing business processes and recommend optimized, scalable financial workflows and automation opportunities.

Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS standards, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Revenue Recognition (ASC 606).

Proven experience implementing or supporting Certinia (FinancialForce) ERP/Accounting solutions.

Strong understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, particularly interactions between Finance, Sales Cloud, and PSA modules.

Relevant Certinia Financial Management or Salesforce certifications are highly preferred.

Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to communicate complex system concepts using financial and business-oriented language.

Strong executive presence with the ability to lead discussions and drive consensus among senior stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to recommend process improvements and business transformation strategies.

Experience with multi-company and multi-currency global implementations.

Knowledge of Financial Report Builder and analytics capabilities within the Certinia ecosystem.

Previous experience working with a Big 4 or boutique financial consulting organization.
