Senior Consultant - Application Development

WSP Digital Solutions is a fast moving, innovation focused team helping our environmental and engineering clients adopt modern digital capabilities. 

We are looking for a mid‑level Application Developer who can build modern cloud‑native applications, integrate APIs, and contribute to high‑quality product development in an agile environment.

This role blends hands-on development, modern cloud tooling, and collaboration with architects, data engineers, and product teams.

• Design and develop cloud native applications using modern frameworks and tools.

• Build APIs, microservices, and integrations across digital platforms.

• Work with data engineers and scientists to operationalize analysis pipelines and ML models.

• Contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and CI/CD automation.

• Collaborate with product owners and delivery managers to understand requirements and deliver incremental value.

• Help shape technical architecture decisions and participate in sprint planning and estimation. 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in building applications.
• Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Java).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Understanding of API development, microservices, and modern web frameworks.
• Strong version control and DevOps practices (Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines).
• Ability to communicate clearly across technical and nontechnical teammates 

• Writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code using best practices and high standards for quality

• Translating design wireframes and mockups into responsive, interactive web and mobile applications
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers, software engineers, and other developers to ensure that the final product meets business and user requirements.
• Identifying and addressing Debugging, testing, and addressing performance issues to ensure that the final product is functional and user-friendly.
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile Development, Scrum,     

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating ML/AI components into applications.
• Familiarity with data engineering workflows.
• Experience working in environmental, infrastructure, or engineering domains.
