The opportunity
EY is looking for a suitable member for our team in Strategy practice. The role provides an opportunity to
be part of the team which assist businesses in setting strategic goals and identifying the steps to meet
them, analyse industry dynamics such as market size, growth, and share of leading competitors, identify
the business’ unique competitive advantage and help create alignment among all business units and
functions to support and enhance this positioning. Team offers clients with Business Model Reinvention,
New Market Entry Opportunities and Digital Strategy and Innovation

Your key responsibilities

• Primary delivery responsibility in the execution of both commercial due diligence and strategy engagements for Energy and Infra sectors


• Working on commercial due diligence, growth strategy and feasibility studies for private equity and corporates


• Develop business strategies using tools such as market analysis, customer research, macroeconomic forecasting and portfolio optimization


• Define the key tasks and activities that are to be carried out to meet the objective and scope of strategy engagements and client deliverables in consultation with Managers


• Effectively lead small teams with diverse skills and backgroundsSupport BD/ proposal development in key sectors and internally across the broader EY and Transaction Advisory Services organization

Technical Excellence

• Experience in delivering business strategy and diligence projects in complex environments


• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)


• Demonstrated ability to deliver on complex assignments


• Strong quantitative skills for data analysis, interpretation of output, and generation of insights

Project Delivery & Leadership:

• Drive work streams or lead aspects of client engagements, applying structured data analysis, research, and strategic thinking to solve complex client challenges.


• Develop, structure, write, and present deliverables, often under tight deadlines and across global/local teams.


• Plan, deliver, and monitor high-quality work products.


• Analytical & Strategic Work:


• Conduct market, sector, and competition analysis, including opportunity sizing and market entry strategy.


• Support strategy planning and business/commercial reviews.


• Assess business drivers and develop actionable recommendations for clients.


• Client Engagement:


• Interact directly with clients, establishing yourself as a key point of contact and trusted advisor.


• Foster productive client relationships and collaborate in team-based environments.


• Present analysis and findings to client executives.


• Business Development:


• Contribute to proposals, pitches, and thought leadership activities.


• Support the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities.


• Team Development:


• Mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and encourage a culture of continuous learning.


• Participate in feedback and coaching processes.

To qualify for the role you must have
Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent degree is an advantage. Degrees from IITs, IIMs, FMS, XLRI, or SP Jain are preferred. 

Experience

• 2-4 years’ experience in top tier consulting firms (MBBs / ATK / Big 4 / Accenture) or relevant industry roles (transaction advisory, corporate finance, or strategy preferred).


• Experience in one or more energy sectors, such as solar, wind, hydropower, bioenergy etc


• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication for effective report writing and presenting.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams effectively.


• Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and, for some teams, financial modeling.


• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
