Senior Consultant – Digital Strategy

WSP is seeking a Senior Consultant – Digital Strategy to join our growing Smart & Digital team in India. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, data, AI and the built environment, helping clients define and deliver practical digital solutions that create measurable business and operational value.

As a Senior Consultant, you will work across major infrastructure, buildings, cities and real estate projects, supporting clients from strategy development and business case creation through solution definition, implementation planning and adoption. The successful candidate will combine strong consulting and analytical skills with a broad understanding of digital technologies and transformation approaches.

You will be expected to independently lead project workstreams, engage with senior client stakeholders, develop high-quality deliverables, and contribute to the growth of WSP's Smart & Digital offering.

• Tech Strategy Advisory
  • Develop digital strategies and frameworks, smart city and smart asset strategies, digital roadmaps, operating models, business cases, and implementation plans.
  • Work directly with clients to understand business, operational, and asset-related challenges and translate them into practical digital solutions and transformation initiatives.
  • Assess opportunities across areas such as AI, data & analytics, digital twins, IoT, connected assets, automation, intelligent buildings, and digital platforms.
  • Conduct current-state assessments, stakeholder consultations, benchmarking studies, capability assessments, and technology evaluations.
  • Translate complex technology concepts into clear business propositions, executive recommendations and actionable implementation plans.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, synthesize findings, and develop data-driven insights and perspectives for clients.
• Project Delivery
  • Lead and manage Smart & Digital consulting workstreams, from problem definition through recommendations and implementation planning.
  • Develop business requirements, use cases, and high-level solution concepts in collaboration with WSP technical specialists and delivery teams.
  • Prepare high-quality executive presentations, reports, business cases, and proposals.
  • Ensure deliverables are produced to a high standard of quality, accuracy and client relevance.
• Client and Stakeholder Management
  • Lead client workshops, interviews, and working sessions with senior stakeholders, project teams and multidisciplinary groups.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate alignment across diverse project teams and client organizations.
• Business Development
  • Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client pursuits across Smart & Digital opportunities.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market research, and the development of new Smart & Digital service offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support account growth.
  • Stay current with developments in AI, digital twins, smart cities, data platforms, automation and related technologies, assessing their practical applicability and business value across sectors.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in management consulting, digital strategy, technology advisory, smart cities, smart buildings, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or a related discipline. MBA from a reputed institution, and prior consulting experience within a Big4 or leading management consulting firm, are advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience developing digital strategies and frameworks, transformation roadmaps, business cases, operating models or technology-enabled solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and structured thinking capabilities.
• Proficiency in secondary research, and experience conducting workshops, stakeholder interviews and executive-level client engagements.
• Proven ability to prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and client deliverables with an eye for design and cohesive storyboarding.
• Ability to independently manage workstreams and deliver projects in a client-facing environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and cultures.
