Job Description: Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant

Location: Chennai (Onsite)

Experience: 12–14+ Years

Role Nature: Individual Contributor + Team Mentor (Multi-Project Delivery)

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant who can independently drive complex finance implementations with minimal supervision.

This is a delivery-focused role, not a pure people management position. The candidate will act as a functional expert and mentor, owning critical configurations, ensuring delivery quality across multiple projects, and guiding junior consultants to become independent contributors.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead end-to-end S/4HANA FICO implementations (blueprint to go-live & hypercare)

· Own AMS support, enhancements, and stabilization activities

· Handle India localization (GST, e-Invoicing, e-Way Bill) and support global rollouts

· Drive finance transformation and process optimization

· Manage integration with MM, SD, and PP modules

· Lead data migration, reconciliation, and financial validation

· Provide techno-functional expertise (debugging, enhancements)

· Mentor and train internal team members

· Manage client communication and escalations independently

· Ensure quality of configuration and solution delivery across projects

Core Functional Expertise

· Strong hands-on configuration in:

o Universal Journal, Parallel Ledgers, Document Splitting

o GL, AP, AR

o Asset Accounting (full lifecycle)

o Banking & BRS (EBS + manual reconciliation)

o Cost Center, Profit Center, Internal Orders

o COPA (account-based preferred)

o Budgeting & Availability Control

o Financial closing & reporting

Statutory & Compliance (Mandatory)

· Strong hands-on experience in:

o GST configuration and reporting

o e-Invoicing (IRN generation, GSP/API integration exposure)

o e-Way Bill

o TDS / withholding tax

· Ability to independently troubleshoot statutory and integration issues

· Exposure to global taxation / localization is an advantage

Techno-Functional Skills (Non-Negotiable)

· Strong ABAP debugging capability (User Exits, BAdIs, enhancements)

· Experience in:

o Data migration (Migration Cockpit / LSMW)

o Interfaces (IDoc / API / middleware)

o Reports and enhancements

· Working knowledge of:

o Fiori apps (Finance)

o CDS views (basic understanding)

Implementation & Delivery Expectations

· Minimum 5–6 full lifecycle implementations (at least 2 in S/4HANA)

· Experience in cutover planning and execution

· Ownership of hypercare and critical issue resolution

· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously (2–3 projects)

Requirements

· Strong hands-on configuration experience (not coordination-focused)

· Experience in India and at least one overseas engagement

Educational Qualification

· Bachelor’s degree is mandatory

· Finance background (CA / ICWA / M.Com / MBA Finance) is preferred

Preferred Skills

· Exposure to SD / PP integration

· Experience in global rollout projects

· Knowledge of Fiori apps and CDS views

· Exposure to cloud / RISE with SAP environments
