About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and data-savvy Senior Credit Underwriter to join our expanding Underwriting team. This pivotal role involves making credit decisions on businesses across the complex and diverse global jewellery industry.

You’ll underwrite a wide range of businesses — from established players to fast-growing newcomers — across a rapidly expanding global footprint. As we enter new markets monthly, not yearly, we need a smart, adaptable, and proactive teammate who thrives in change and brings structure to scale.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Product, Data, and Finance to support Nivoda’s growth, balancing risk and reward through best-in-class underwriting practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite trade credit products for businesses in the jewellery industry across a global portfolio

• Help manage and monitor the credit portfolio, ensuring continuous improvement in reporting to serve both business and investor needs

• Identify inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve and streamline our credit underwriting processes

• Collaborate with Product and Data teams to enhance our decisioning systems, driving automation and speed

• Contribute to wider credit risk strategy as the business scales and the offering evolves

What You'll Need

• Proven experience in underwriting businesses. Preferably trade finance or SME lending.

• Demonstrated ability to manage a diversified portfolio effectively, maximising risk-adjusted returns.​

• Strong analytical skills, capable of critically assessing financial performance and analysing large datasets to identify patterns.​

• Keen interest in leveraging tech to improve the data-driven credit decision process and push process automation. Some skills in SQL or Python are highly valued.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the organization.​

• Self-starter mentality, with a track record of solving complex problems methodically.
