Senior Data Analyst, 12 months contract, Mumbai

The Data Operations Group (Data Ops), part of Fitch’s Chief Data Office (CDO) function, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst – Risk Hub Project to join its team, based out of Mumbai. This is a 12-month contract position.

Senior Data Analysts are responsible for the collection, manipulation and management of our economic timeseries data, as well as helping to develop new methodologies, content sets and products, and developing deep subject matter expertise to support internal and external users of the data. This role will support the transformation of our BMI Risk Indices, with a focus on automation of data collection and modernization of calculation methodologies within a new system. The role will interface with teams across Data Ops and the wider CDO and will sit alongside and support our market-leading research team spanning offices in London, New York, Singapore, Mumbai and Pretoria.

We’ll Count on You To:

• Manage the onboarding, validation and maintenance of Risk Hub datasets, including 17+ indices across 140-200 global markets.


• Collect, analyse and maintain large-scale time-series datasets, developing expertise in underlying sources, methodologies and data quality controls.


• Support the migration of data, metadata and calculation methodologies to modern platforms leveraging Python, APIs and automated workflows.


• Build, validate and enhance forecasting models, methodologies and analytical processes to improve data quality and product outputs.


• Partner with Research, Product and Engineering teams to deliver data products, platform enhancements, methodology changes and transformation initiatives.

What You Need to Have:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or a related discipline.


• Experience working with macroeconomics, time-series or other large multi-market datasets from multiple source types.


• Strong Python and Excel skills, including data manipulation, web scraping, API integration and analytical workflows.


• Proven experience applying data quality controls, validation, reconciliation and documentation standards.


• Ability to manage competing priorities, communicate effectively and deliver against project and operational deadlines.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

• Experience with economic forecasting, time-series methodologies and quantitative modelling techniques.


• Experience supporting index development, scoring frameworks, methodology changes or large-scale data migrations.


• Understanding of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, taxonomy design and workflow management.


• Experience with enterprise data platforms, third-party data providers, APIs, ETL processes and cloud-based architectures.


• Strong stakeholder management, organizational skills, problem-solving capability and familiarity with Decisions or similar platforms.
