Job Description - Senior Engineer - Connectors

This exciting role offers opportunity to:\n\nThis role will be responsible for the design activities of Eaton\u2019s electrical connectors, accessories, cables and conduit assemblies within its Aerospace Interconnect Technologies Division. \nThis role supports project engineering in generating the CAD and drawings for new product development and product sustaining activities. \nPerforms design engineering work from concept development, trade studies, design for manufacturability, and final design documentation. \nCan generate complex component drawings to effectively communicate requirements. \nAble to develop creative solutions with existing technologies and add novel designs when required to meet the product requirements. \nAble to support a reduced number of projects at once and effectively communicate commitments to international project teams. \nContributes effectively towards team goals and influences the work group; works beyond routine nature of tasks utilizing specialized knowledge to support internal and external customers. \nAble to initiate engineering change orders and understands how to implement design changes within a configuration-controlled environment \nResponsible for the design activities of connectors, accessories, cables and conduit assemblies.\n\n \n\n## Qualifications:\n\n \n\nB.E/B.Tech or ME/M.tech \nMechanical or related engineering area with 8+ years of experience (BE/B.Tech) or 6+ years (ME/M.tech) in design and development of connectors, Electromechanical compenents , cables and accessories. Relevant exposure to manufacturing of connectors, contacts, wires and cables will be added advantage\n\n## Skills:\n\nWorking knowledge of mechanical design principles \nStrong product design ability (Both new product \u0026 product modification) \nExperience using CREO for modeling and drafting in accordance with ASME Y14.100 and GD\u0026T per ANSI Y14.5M-1982 or newer. \nInnovative mechanical design skills including but not limited to frequent use of 2D and 3D CAD (Creo and/or SolidWorks) modeling and Model Based Definition, and GD\u0026T \nAbility to read and understand Drawings, Specifications, and Requirements \nIn-depth knowledge of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics \nEnsure the successful completion of the assigned projects within the budget time and cost constraints \nVerify completed drawings, reports, and change orders for completeness and conformity to standards, procedures and specifications. \nVerify accuracy of calculations, dimensioning and tolerancing\n\nAbility to make recommendations on product designs, strongly influence product costs, and capital investments. \nAbility to lead technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews and technical coordination meetings. \nThorough knowledge of product applications, product design techniques, engineering processes, and engineering standards (AS85049, MIL 38999 etc.) \nExperience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA \u0026 DVPR \nExposure with PLM systems, i.e. ENOVIA \nAble to participate and contribute in strategy building for business next few years\" \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills needed. \nAbility to lead a team of 3-4 individuals indirectly \nAbility to work across site boundaries in a global virtual engineering organization. \nAbility to network and develop relationships with other Eaton Aerospace and non-Aerospace resources. \nAbility to develop productive working relationships with functions and organizations outside of Engineering \nUtilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management \u0026 DVPR for new product development \u0026/or existing product improvements \nCreation of 3D models, drawings, reports, ECRs/ECOs and BOMs, Tooling designs, Test fixture designs, Test plans and Test reports for new product designs and modification of existing drawings and models. \nCoordinate design reviews through release process \nYes!
