Job Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Platform Services team, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Building and maintaining the internal developer platform on Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) — owning the CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and environment automation that application teams depend on to ship software
• Driving software supply chain security from commit to production — including image security scanning, pipeline security gates, admission controls, and staged artifact promotion across environments
• Defining and enforcing platform policy-as-code — governing what runs in our clusters, how environments are provisioned, and how secrets and access are managed at scale
• Leading platform improvement initiatives, mentoring team members, and partnering with application teams, security, and cloud infrastructure to deliver a reliable, secure, and developer-friendly platform
• Evaluating and adopting emerging platform capabilities — self-service developer tooling, observability, automated certificate management, and supply chain integrity practices

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (completed and verified prior to start)

OR

High School Diploma or higher AND four (4) years of hands-on Kubernetes or OpenShift platform experience

AND

Five (5) or more years of experience in DevOps and Platform Engineering in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift or ROSA — cluster administration, RBAC, and namespace lifecycle management
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, ArgoCD and Helm
• Familiarity with software supply chain security principles — SLSA, image signing and verification, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement at deployment gates
• Experience developing admission controls and policy as code in a Kubernetes or OpenShift environment
• Experience with Kubernetes networking principles and container network interface (CNI) tools (Cilium, Calico etc..)
• Working knowledge of AWS platform services — IAM, networking, certificate management, and automation tooling (Step Functions, Lambda etc..)
• Proficiency in scripting and infrastructure automation using Bash and/or Python
• Experience with observability tooling — metrics, alerting, and dashboards that provide actionable signal
• Red Hat or AWS certifications
