Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \n \n\u2022 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nRole Overview\n\nThe System Stability Triage Engineer is responsible for analyzing, debugging, and owning system-level stability issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers. This role serves as the first line of technical investigation for crashes, hangs, performance degradation, and other stability-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive effective root-cause analysis and resolution.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Triage and debug complex system stability issues, including crashes, hangs, reboots, memory corruption, and performance regressions.\n\n * Analyze logs, memory dumps, traces, and core files to identify root causes across kernel, drivers, firmware, and user space.\n\n * Efficiently leverage AI-based techniques for automatic issue triaging and analysis.\n\n * Identify recurring stability trends and propose systemic fixes to improve overall system robustness.\n\n * Provide clear technical updates, root-cause summaries, and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree in computer science, Electronics , or a related field with minimum 3-5 years\u2019 experience.\n\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a system-level debugging mindset.\n\n * Good understanding of operating system concepts, including Process scheduling, Memory management, Interrupt handling, Device drivers, Synchronization mechanisms \u0026 PCI buses.\n\n * Experience using debugging and analysis tools such as gdb, Trace32/JTAG, or crash dump analyzers.\n\n * Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.\n\n * Knowledge of networking and connectivity protocols (WLAN, Bluetooth, Ethernet, network stack) and the Android framework is a plus.\n\n * Familiarity with embedded systems and processor architectures is a plus.\n\n * Experience working with logs, traces, and diagnostic frameworks is a plus.\n\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
