Senior General Ledger Accountant

As a General Ledger (GL) Accountant, you will be supporting accurate and timely bookkeeping activities for the company. This will include posting and processing journal entries, maintaining accounts and supporting preparation of financial statements and annual audit for period end closes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform General Ledger (GL) accounting activities, including complex tasks
• Process financial transactions, reconcile account balances, and calculate accruals and adjustments.
• Ensure accurate and timely period-end close by recording all transactions, posting journal entries, completing reconciliations, and supporting consolidation at required levels.
• Analyze accounting records to produce accurate and insightful financial reports.
• Conduct periodic reviews of GL and related accounts in collaboration with the GL accounting team to ensure compliance with internal financial controls.
• Support responses to queries from regulatory authorities and external auditors.
• Collaborate with the GL accounting team on day-to-day activities, providing guidance and support to junior team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for GL accounting processes within the Shared Services Center (SSC).
• Ensure adherence to established GL accounting policies and compliance standards.
• Work cross-functionally with teams such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Master Data.
• Actively participate in ERP system implementation or enhancement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• deally 5+ years of experience in GL accounting operations
• Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Advanced MS Excel skills with demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
• Strong understanding of finance business processes, accounting policies, and statutory accounting principles to ensure compliant SSC operations.
• Working knowledge of core finance systems, ERP platforms, and related functional tools and frameworks.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
