Senior Insurance Manager
a) Purpose (Why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits)
Liaising with the Insurance Analyst(s) and assisting the Insurance Manager(s) and the team in daily tasks and keep accurate records of insurance covers / invoices and claims so to ensure accurate evaluation of risk and analysis. To coordinate with the other team members and handle efficiently the various excel sheets and insurance platforms. To monitor the insurance team’s inbox and ensure that works on administrative tasks on time and with efficiency.

Liaising with Marine, Operations, Accounting, Crewing, Administration
Liaising with Clubs, Brokers, Club Local Correspondents, and Surveyors & other third parties as applicable.
c) Minimum Requirements
Relevant Experience
3 – 4 years of experience, preferably, in the Marine Insurance department of a Ship owning and/or ship technical management company. If not, then with Marine Insurance Broking firm / Club correspondents’ offices
Business/Industry Understanding
Shipping, Marine Insurance
Knowledge – Education & Functional
Basic degree (preferably in insurance or Shipping) with some knowledge of insurance/accounting especially related to marine insurance documentation. Proficient user of MS Office applications (especially excel), email, and internet.
Skills – Behavioural
Willing to learn; Attention to detail; ability to sift through extensive documentation efficiently; Proven method to create and maintain archives/databases. Organizational skills and time management. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Area of Responsibility
Activities / Description
Record keeping
- Coordinate and maintain accurate and updated record of existing and newly placed insurance cover
- Book keeping and coordination of communication, certificates, policies & invoices
- To Maintain and Update Invoicing/claims/premium trackers daily.
- Quarterly declarations to P & I Clubs ( or other ) as applicable
- Maintain and coordinate record of surveys, quotes, claim tracker
- Other responsibilities as designated by Insurance Director/Managers/Officers
Administration
- Coordinating, checking & verification of insurance documentation, premium & claim invoices and record keeping of same
- Follow up and coordination of payments/credits of invoices
- Other responsibilities as designated by Insurance Director/Managers/Officers
Reporting
- Prepare, coordinate and update regular reports on Insurance activities as required.
- Other responsibilities as designated by Insurance Director/Managers/Officers
Renewal/Placement
- Assist Insurance Director/Managers/Officers as required
- Other responsibilities as designated by Insurance Director/Managers/Officers
Special Condition: Requires to be available as per global time zone
