API and Integration Development - Integrate with external platforms using REST and SOAP APIs. - Work with API
authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, API keys and access tokens. - Handle pagination, rate limits, retries and
API failures. - Design and consume webhooks. - Analyse API requests, responses and error messages. - Develop data
mapping and transformation logic between different platforms. - Ensure integrations are idempotent and do not create
duplicate transactions. - Maintain compatibility with third -party API changes and version upgrades.
Production Troubleshooting - Investigate production incidents using application logs, database records and monitoring
tools. - Identify root causes instead of applying temporary fixes. - Analyse performance issues, memory problems,
connection pool exhaustion and slow database queries. - Troubleshoot intermittent API, webhook, scheduler and
queue -related failures. - Provide technical findings to support, QA and operations teams. - Implement permanent
corrective and preventive actions. - Participate in critical incident resolution when required.
Database Development - Design and maintain MySQL database structures. - Write and optimise SQL queries. - Create
appropriate indexes and analyse execution plans. - Handle large -volume data processing efficiently. - Identify
duplicate, inconsistent or incomplete records. - Work safely with production data and database migrations. -
Understand transactions, locking, isolation levels and concurrency.
Code Quality and Reviews - Review code written by other developers. - Identify defects, security issues, performance
risks and maintainability concerns. - Enforce coding standards and engineering best practices. - Write unit and
integration tests. - Ensure adequate test coverage for critical workflows. - Participate in pull -request reviews and
release validation. - Mentor junior and mid -level developers.
Performance and Scalability - Design systems that can process high -volume orders and API transactions. - Improve
scheduler, batch and queue -processing efficiency. - Identify memory, CPU, thread and database bottlenecks. - Design
asynchronous processing where appropriate. - Ensure that services fail safely and recover correctly. - Support
horizontal and vertical scaling decisions.
Cross -Functional Collaboration - Work closely with product analysts, business analysts, QA engineers and support
teams. - Understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions. - Clarify technical feasibility,
dependencies and risks. - Support QA in preparing technical and integration test scenarios. - Provide technical
estimates and implementation plans. - Communicate delays, risks and blockers clearly.
