This role focuses on PHY development on the DU side, building high\u2011performance, real\u2011time wireless software used in modern cellular networks.\n\nYou will work closely with PHY, RF, platform, and system teams to develop and optimize carrier\u2011grade NR PHY features.\n\nWhat You\u2019ll Do\n\n * Develop and maintain Layer\u20111 (PHY) firmware for 5G NR gNodeB\n * Work on uplink and downlink PHY channels, including:\n * PUSCH, PDSCH, PUCCH, PDCCH, PRACH, SRS, SSB\n * Implement and optimize signal processing algorithms such as:\n * Channel estimation and equalization\n * HARQ processing\n * MIMO and beamforming\n * Work on FEC processing:\n * Turbo coding/decoding (LTE)\n * LDPC and Polar coding/decoding (5G NR)\n * Optimize real\u2011time performance for latency and throughput\n * Integrate PHY software with MAC, RF, and hardware platforms\n * Debug complex PHY\u2011level and real\u2011time issues\n\n\n\nRequired Skills\n\n * Strong experience in Layer\u20111 / PHY firmware development\n * Hands\u2011on experience with LTE and/or 5G NR\n * Solid understanding of 3GPP PHY specifications\n * Strong C/C++ programming skills\n * Experience working on real\u2011time or embedded systems\n * Good understanding of:\n * OFDM / SC\u2011FDMA\n * Numerologies and frame structures\n * HARQ and link adaptation\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\n\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
