Job Description - Senior Lead Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Lead Engineer with strong experience in AMI/AMR systems, HES, MDMS, and end‑to‑end smart metering programs. The ideal candidate should be capable of leading technical activities, managing integrations, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting large -scale utility projects.

This role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams such as OEMs, utility stakeholders, firmware teams, network partners, and cloud teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

Lead technical activities for AMI/AMR projects, ensuring smooth deployment and operations.
Provide guidance to engineering teams on HES, MDMS, communication modules, and system integrations.
Review technical designs, solution documents, test plans, and deployment approaches.

HES / MDMS

Manage configurations, testing, and operations of Headend Systems and Meter Data Management Systems.
Support data acquisition, data validation, data estimation (VEE), and event management.
Troubleshoot meter onboarding, communication failures, and integration issues.

Integration & Communication

Handle integrations with: RF Mesh, GPRS/2G/3G/4G, NB -IoT / LTE, Utility backend systems (Billing, CRM, Outage Management), API -based interfaces (REST/SOAP)
Work with OEMs, network providers, and platform teams for resolving communication or API errors.

Testing & Validation

Lead end -to -end testing of smart meters, HES, MDMS, and field devices.
Conduct integration testing, protocol validation, and firmware testing.
Execute Meter Data Validation, Estimation & Editing (VEE) processes.

Firmware & Device Management

Coordinate with meter OEMs for: Firmware upgrades, Validation of firmware releases, Meter communication checks
Support debugging of meter -level issues.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Work with cloud teams (AWS/Azure/private cloud) for: System deployment, Environment management, Performance optimization, Log analysis

Project Management

Manage end -to -end project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
Prepare progress reports, risk logs, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with client teams, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

Strong experience in HES / MDMS operations and integration.
Knowledge of AMI/AMR systems, smart meters, and utility workflows.
Hands -on experience with RF, GPRS, NB -IoT, and communication troubleshooting.
Understanding of API frameworks, system interfaces, and integration flows.
Experience in testing, validation, and smart meter firmware processes.
Good project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
Strong analytical and problem -solving abilities.
