Key Responsibility: Cost Reduction Cost Optimization & Strategic Procurement • • • • • • • • • • • • • Develop and implement logistics cost reduction strategies across domestic and international transportation.
Negotiate long-term freight contracts with shipping lines, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, transporters, and warehouse providers.
Identify opportunities to optimize ocean freight, inland transportation, warehousing, and container utilization.
Benchmark freight rates across carriers and logistics partners to ensure competitive pricing.
Optimize container loading and shipment consolidation to reduce freight cost per MT.
Analyze shipping routes and transit times to identify the most cost-effective logistics solutions.
Build alternate logistics channels to minimize dependency on a limited number of service providers.
Monitor detention, demurrage, storage, and port-related charges, and implement measures to eliminate avoidable costs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using logistics KPIs and data analytics.
Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Production, and Finance teams to balance service levels with logistics costs.
Develop annual freight budgets and track savings against targets.
Lead strategic sourcing and vendor performance reviews to achieve measurable cost efficiencies.
Identify automation and digitalization opportunities to improve logistics productivity and reduce operational expenses.
