Senior Machine Learning Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY 

EarnIn is building the next generation of AI-powered experiences that help millions of people access their pay and improve their financial well-being. We’re looking for a self-driven engineer eager to grow, learn quickly, and expand their impact by building high-quality systems and agent-driven GenAI workflows. This role is for a builder who is ready to move beyond foundational work and take significant ownership. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, deeply values craft, and is eager to push the boundaries of how engineers collaborate with AI agents.

This position will be hybrid from our Bengaluru office, as part of our expanding site, with 2+ days in the office. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build and ship agent-driven chatbot and GenAI workflows that deliver real customer impact.


• Own meaningful features end-to-end, from definition through design, all the way to implementation, evaluation, and impact measurement.


• Own the chatbot quality loop end-to-end, from prompt design, retrieval tuning, failure-mode analysis, regression test sets, hallucination, to PII-leak monitoring.


• Work hands-on with modern AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Codex, Claude-style assistants).


• Collaborate with product, ML, and engineering teams in a fast-moving, ownership-driven culture.


• Continuously explore better ways to design, iterate, and improve how we build with AI.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

• 5+ years in an applied ML / data science / analyst role, ideally with at least 1–2 years in LLM/GenAI-specific work.


• Strong SQL - you should be comfortable writing queries against messy production data. Bonus: Databricks/Spark.


• Working Python for analysis, prompt iteration, eval harnesses, and notebooks (Pandas, scikit-learn, basic LangChain/LlamaIndex/DSPy or equivalent).


• Practical GenAI experience — prompt engineering, RAG architectures, structured output (JSON/tool use), eval design, dealing with hallucination and prompt injection in production.


• A track record of A/B-tested wins.


• Strong product instincts in the customer support domain.


• Experience in proactively identifying problems, learning quickly, and taking the initiative.


• Curiosity and a growth mindset with a focus on and experience stretching beyond what you already know.
