Role Summary:

The Machine Learning Engineer will get hands-on and solve any problem on the way to serving customers and optimizing our business. We have opportunities in marketing and personalization across email, app and website. These initiatives will be building the foundations for our digital first customer identity. You will be working in a state-of-the-art environment where clickstream data, user activity data, and a vast ecommerce product dataset is accessible. The technologies that we use include AWS, Kubernetes, and Python/Kotlin. The ability to think strategically about customer and business challenges and proactively propose solutions will be critical to their success. Forward thinking is the key to this role as new technologies and opportunities present themselves

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer or a machine learning engineer, preferably in the retail or luxury fashion industry.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong handson experience on APIs, Kubernetes and AWS
• Handson experience on either Terraform, Go, Kotlin, Rest
• Nice to have: Experience on Java or Python
• Previous experience in both front-end and back-end software engineering
• Desire to learn and work with machine learning
• Preferred: Relevant M.S. degree
• Preferred: Experience building high availability, low latency, and high throughput systems
• Preferred: Ability to grow rapidly into the next level of your career, as the company grows

Role Description:

• Develop and own end-to-end features that support Saks.com machine learning solutions.
• Design, develop, and document high-quality APIs
• Build user interfaces for Saks.com merchandising and planning teams
• Contribute high-quality, well tested, maintainable code
• Have an ownership mindset and take responsibility for the features you develop
