Reporting To: GM Finance / Head – Finance Shared Services / GCC Director / VP – Finance Operations
Role Purpose
The Transition Manager – Finance Shared Services is responsible for end‑to‑end transition of global finance processes from onshore entities, regional offices, acquired businesses, or third‑party vendors into a Global Capability Center (GCC) or Shared Services environment.
The role ensures process stabilization, control integrity, knowledge retention, compliance adherence, and seamless handover into steady‑state finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Transition Strategy & Planning
- Own end‑to‑end finance transition lifecycle: due diligence, transition assessment, planning, execution, stabilization, and closure
- Define transition scope by process tower (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Master Data, Compliance)
- Develop and manage Transition Plans, governance cadence, RAID logs, dependency maps, and cutover plans
- Align transition approach with finance transformation roadmap and GCC maturity model
Finance Process Transitions
- Lead transitions for global finance processes, including:
- Record to Report – GL, month-end close, consolidation, reporting
- Procure to Pay – vendor onboarding, AP, payments, T&E
- Order to Cash – billing, AR, credit, collections
- FP&A – budgeting, forecasting, management reporting
- Statutory, Tax & Compliance support
- Ensure process standardization, documentation, and alignment to global policies
- Drive adoption of best practices, controls, and automation opportunities
Knowledge Transfer & Controls Readiness
- Design and execute structured knowledge transfer models (documentation, shadow–assist–perform, certification)
- Ensure KT completion with formal sign-offs and competency validation
- Validate SOX controls, audit requirements, and financial control frameworks during transition
- Ensure no control gaps during entity or process migration
Stakeholder & Governance Management
- Act as single point of accountability for finance transitions
- Manage senior stakeholders across Global Finance, Regional Controllers, Business CFOs, External Auditors, and Vendors
- Lead transition governance forums, steering committees, and leadership updates
- Handle scope changes, risks, and escalations decisively
Technology & Systems Enablement
- Coordinate closely with ERP and IT teams for:
- Oracle / Workday transitions
- System access, role mapping, workflow setup, and reporting readiness
- Support data migration, parallel runs, UAT coordination, and cutover planning
- Ensure alignment between process transitions and system changes
Financial & Commercial Oversight
- Track transition budgets, resource ramp-up, and productivity assumptions
- Support business case development for GCC transitions
- Manage commercial scope adherence and incremental demand evaluation
Go‑Live, Stabilization & Handover
- Conduct go-live readiness reviews and approval checkpoints
- Manage hyper-care and stabilization until KPIs meet agreed thresholds
- Drive transition closure, lessons learned, and continuous improvement roadmap
- Ensure formal handover to operations with accountability and metrics in place

Skills & Competencies
Finance & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of Finance Shared Services / GCC operating models
- Hands-on exposure to R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A transitions
- Good working knowledge of SOX, internal controls, audit requirements
- ERP exposure: Oracle, Workday Financials
Program & Leadership Skills
- Proven transition program / project management experience
- Strong stakeholder influencing and executive communication skills
- Structured, detail-oriented, and risk-focused execution mindset
- Ability to operate in global, multi-time-zone environments
Qualifications & Experience
- CA / CPA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
- 10–16 years of experience in Finance Operations, Shared Services, or GCC environments
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience leading finance process transitions or transformations
- PMP / Prince2 / ITIL / Six Sigma certification preferred
