Job Description:
Working closely with Shield AI’s global finance organization, this role offers deep ownership, high impact, and direct exposure to the complexities of operating a global defence tech company in India, while contributing to a mission-driven organization at scale.
What you'll do:
- Own corporate compliance, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements for Shield AI India.
- Ensure adherence to Indian regulations including Companies Act, FEMA, GST, Income Tax, and other applicable laws relevant to defence and technology sectors.
- Oversee accounting operations, including bookkeeping, month-end and year-end close, and preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with Ind AS / Indian GAAP and Shield AI’s global accounting policies.
- Act as the primary finance interface for external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate closely with Shield AI’s central and global finance teams to ensure consistency in accounting treatment, controls, and reporting.
- Review financial statements, schedules, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Support internal control frameworks, risk mitigation efforts, and process improvements.
- Provide strategic finance insights on compliance risks, regulatory implications, and financial matters impacting India operations.
- Work effectively with global stakeholders across multiple time zones, ensuring smooth cross-border finance coordination.
Required qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) and Company Secretary (CS) with 10–12 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, and compliance roles.
- Deep expertise in accounting, bookkeeping, and statutory financial reporting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Indian regulatory and compliance frameworks, including corporate, tax, and foreign exchange regulations.
- Prior experience in a global or multinational organization, preferably within technology, aerospace, or defence-related sectors, including supporting Indian entities operating across multiple time zones.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex compliance requirements, audits, and regulatory engagements.
- Exposure to governance and risk-related initiatives, including internal control frameworks, compliance risk assessment, and regulatory readiness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort operating in highly regulated and complex environments.
- Ability to balance operational rigor with strategic financial perspective and sound judgment.
