Be a part of a unique programme: You will lead a program where communities, adolescent girls and schools interact to understand, identify the key gaps and opportunities to enable change to ensure girls are in schools and supported.
Opportunity to participate in the solution: You get to play a key role in building systems within the schools where the voice of adolescent girls and women is heard and plan community-based solutions to ensure children are in schools, safe and supported.
This programme allows for one to travel extensively across 3 districts to strategize and plan actions, to assess and monitor change and to support in training and mobilising Principals/ Sr. teachers, local and community women and adolescent girls.
II. Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity with the potential to achieve a multi-faceted role which includes,
Building the facilitation and training skills of the team and the key stakeholders
Leading and managing a diverse and talented team
Co-creating and implementing the operational plan and strategic vision for the state
Demonstrating at scale a 360 degrees, innovative child harm prevention model and building stakeholder investment
Communicating internally and externally about project outcomes and child protection
Maintaining partnerships with District and local level government officials
In addition, you will play a critical role in leveraging the power of data to:
Advocate for broader impact with district/state officials.
Ensure a balance of progress against quantitative targets with high quality and deep work for sustainable impact.
TRAVEL: This role requires regular travel to the operational sites, to attend government and other stakeholder meetings, and to Mumbai/ New Delhi for head office meetings, and other locations as maybe necessary.
III. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Management
Co-create and manage project plans to meet timelines, achieve milestones and deliver transformative results.
Review programmatic data monthly to conduct root cause analysis to design solutions for systemic problems and develop innovations for programme effectiveness.
Training and Development:
Continuous training and mentoring of team members for effective programme delivery and professional development.
Support the program team with relevant insights and feedback to ensure that the goals of the program are met
Ongoing and hands-on training with project staff to plan and deliver systematic training to key stakeholders to deliver transformative results.
Monitor the trainings facilitated by the trainers to ensure that the training objectives are met
Advocacy and Networking
Build and maintain partnerships with government bodies especially Education department at District and Local level, NGOs, educational was institutions, and community organizations to enhance program effectiveness and outreach.
Others
Track key policy developments and trends relevant to child protection and our work in Jharkhand
Support the state Data Associate in developing and maintaining monthly MIS, collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data
Preparing reports to share with Government Authorities, funders with the aim of communicating key protection issues, actions planned and outcomes of the program
IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven track record of successful program implementation and stakeholder engagement.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team and independently
Critical thinking and problem-solving attitude
Ability to multi-task and be resourceful in the face of uncertainty
Willingness to travel frequently and lead by demonstration in the field.
V. Education and Experience
A Masters degree in a relevant field
7+ years of work experience
Experience of managing a team
Understanding of the local context and socio-political environment of the state. Prior experience in the field of urban or rural development specifically in Jharkhand is essential.
Experience of engagement with government officials in the block and district administration
Working knowledge on the thematic areas of child safety and protection will be an added advantage
