Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com. \n\n## The team you will be a part of\n\nThe Legal General team performs a variety of legal activities in accordance with the established standards of the legal profession to protect the organization\u0027s reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations. Prepares legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters (e.g., loans, leases, purchase agreements, acquisitions, divestitures, employment contracts). Represents the organization in legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities.\n\n## This role in summary\n\nPerson will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of designated areas of work, provide relevant, responsible and implementable legal advice and for ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.\n\n## Your responsibilities will include\n\nManaging corporate legal activities \u0026 litigations with the objective of providing pragmatic, commercial, solutions oriented advice to business.\n\nLEGAL:\n\nLitigation management \n\\- Representing the company before courts of law and tribunals and government authorities. Making submissions for cases, coordinating with external counsels and overall control of litigation. \n\\- Lead and successfully execute the litigation strategy including efforts to proactively reduce and improvise the dispute pipeline \n\\- Effectively utilize the Litigation management tools to monitor litigations and strengthen reporting. \n\\- Work closely with the global and local safety team to identify and reduce risks.\n\nAdvisory \n\\- Partner with business in the development and execution of the plans and legal implications of the same \n\\- Prepare, negotiate and review legal agreements governing commercial relationships with third parties with whom the Company has dealings \n\\- Helping business to know the regulatory framework and risks to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and codes \n\\- Advice business on various legislations and legal issues specifically relating to Legal Metrology, various licensing requirements \u0026 registrations; factory \u0026 labor laws, product related regulations etc. \n\\- Identify key legal issues and principles and how they relate to markets, relationship types, products and services and mitigation of legal risk and consequences \n\\- Evaluating the Policies for Antitrust, Competition law, conflict of interest, EHS, Anti Bribery etc. and imparting face to face training for various Policies of the Company. \n\\- Working with key global stakeholders on matters pertaining to legal, regulatory, and compliance\n\nCOMPLIANCE: \n\\- In charge for leading Waste Management regulatory advisory:\n\n * Handling authorization/Licenses\n\n * overall guidance on Waste Management\n\n * Set up and monitor processes for Waste Management\n\n\n\n\n\\- Developing processes and procedures to implement local, regional, or global regulatory and compliance requirements. Oversee the internal compliance function centered on detection, prevention and response. \n\\- Lead a culture of compliance by effective management of the Compliance Management Tool across the entire organization. Monitoring and evaluating the quality of compliance in the Compliance Management Tool.\n\nGOVERNMENT RELATIONS: \n\\- Overseeing relationships with regulatory authorities including industrial bodies etc., and managing the regulatory affairs. Functioning as the subject matter expert on local regulatory requirements. \n\\- Monitor major legislative developments and regulatory changes that are relevant for the Company in India and SAARC and update legal and commercial teams accordingly \n\\- Core member of Waste Council bringing in Industry best practices/knowledge to Company \n\\- Liaison with the regulatory or statutory authority as and when required\n\n## Minimum requirements\n\n * Education- LLB \n\n * Experience- 8-11 yrs with MNC or Big Corporate House\n\n * In-depth knowledge of regulatory laws especially factory laws, pollution laws, legal metrology \u0026 labor laws.\n\n * Knowledge of legal aspects and practical functioning of FMCG companies\n\n\n\n\n## Preferred skills and experiences\n\n * Good interpersonal skills to work alongside cross functional teams\n\n * Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment\n\n\n\n\nConnect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation\n\nSee what it\u0027s like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers.
